Intervention:

Following are the various intervention under Rice, Wheat and pulses of NFSM.

Demonstration:

The objective of the demonstration is to convince the farmers regarding newtechnology and crop production particularly Rice and Wheat.The demonstrations of improvedpackage of practices of Rice and Wheat, System of Rice Intensification (SRI) and Hybrid Rice will be conducted at farmer's field to create the awareness about the new technology.

The area of demonstration is 0.4 ha and for every 100 ha area of Rice and 50 ha area Wheat one demonstration is conducted. The fund to meet the critical inputs and other expenses for Rice demonstration Rs 2500/per demonstration on IPP, Rs 3000/per demonstration on SRI and Hybrid Rice and Rs 2000/ per demonstration for wheat on IPP are provided.

 

Seed Production:

Seed is one of the most critical inputs for enhancing the productivity of crops. The Mission provides financial assistance for production of seed of hybrid Rice and breeder, foundation and certified seed of improved variety of pulses.

 

Subsidy on Seed:

To enhance the production and productivity of food grain varietal replacement of Rice, pulses and Wheat is an essential component.To bring the SRR up to 33% in identified district by the end of 11th five year plan and to increase in the productivity an assistance of subsidy on purchase of certified seed released during last 10 years is provided on rice and wheat @ 50% of the cost or Rs 700/ per quintal or whichever is less and on pulses @ 50% of the cost or Rs 2000/ per quintal or whichever is less.The assistance will be limited to 5 hectare only to each introducing farmers.

Seed minikit programme of rice and wheat:

Minikit seeds are meant for introduction and popularization of latest released/pre-released variety /hybrid among farmers. The size of the minikit of HYV Rice is of 5 kg and Hybrid Rice is of 6 kg whereas, size of wheat minikit 10 kg each. This is supplied on full subsidy to the farmers.

Nutrient management/soil ameliorates:

Nutrient management/soil ameliorates:

To promote the application of lime/liming material and micronutrients an incentive up-to @ Rs 500/ Ha and micronutrient @ Rs 500/ Ha whichever is less in rice is given to improve the soil health.

 

Application of micronutrient and gypsum in wheat a package assistance for micronutrient and gypsum together will be 50% of the cost limited to Rs 1000/ per ha (@ Rs 500/ Ha for gypsum and micronutrient @ Rs 500/ Ha) is given.

 

The assistance of gypsum will be provided to those farmers whose soil is saline and alkaline PH.

 

An assistance for use of micronutrient /lime/gypsum will be provided @ 50% of the cost limited to Rs 1250 /ha to the farmers. The assistance will be limited to Rs 750/ha for lime/gypsum and Rs 500/ha for micronutrients.

 

This assistance will be admissible to farmers for maximum 5 ha only.

 

Mechanization:

Mechanization will help in timely completion of field operations in Rice, Wheat and Pulses. Inputs identified are required to be comply the ISI standard or tested at FMTTI/ CIAE Bhopal or RAU. Following interventions have been identified under NFSM-Rice, wheat & Pulses:

Integrated pest management

Financial assistance of Rs 500/per ha in case of Rice and  Rs 750/per ha in case ofPulses or 50% of the cost whichever is less will be provided for use of inputs to safe guard rice and pulses crops. A plan of prophylactic and contingent measures conceptualizing the idea of integrated pest management the bio-pesticides and plant protection chemicals has been incorporated in the package. Assistance will be limited to a maximum of 5 ha per farmer.IPM in Pulses.
